La sangre de drago (Croton lechleri) es un árbol que puede llegar a medir entre 10 y 25 metros de altura, con hojas en forma acorazonada y flores de color blanco verdoso.
Se encuentra principalmente en el alto Amazonas, en Perú, Ecuador y Brasil
El látex que se obtiene de él, es conocido desde tiempos antiguos como remedio para curar y cicatrizar heridas; también se destina a tratar problemas odontológicos y digestivos y como eficaz antiviral y antibacteriano
